My personal collection of Bible Research Systems products contain software, manuals, and marketing materials that I have collected throughout these past years and decades.
‘THE WORD Processor’ version 5.1

My first Bible Research Systems software package that I used was ‘THE WORD Processor’ version 5.1 for MS-DOS and MS Windows 3.1. I installed WP5 using the thirty 5.25-inch floppy disks from the software set. It was 1992; my package contained the KJV bible translation and it possessed many add-ons. I used ‘THE WORD Processor’ exclusively for Bible study for many years. Unfortunately, I lost the original disks and users manual book.
However, I followed the recommended instructions in the manual where I created floppy disk images (i.e. backups) for all the original disks where I was able to re-create the floppy disk set. Much later, I was fortunate to locate another users manual binder of the same version to replace what was lost as shown in picture.
‘THE WORD Processor’ version 6.3B
My second acquisition was ‘THE WORD Processor’ version 6.3B. This package came with another users manual binder and twenty 3.5-inch floppy disks. It was unfortunate that the original owner lost the CD-ROM that came with original order. I have been looking for a CD-ROM replacement for this BRS version.

The floppy disks (v6.3B) contained the KJV, NKJV, NIV, NRSV, & RSV bible translations; however, none of the floppy disks contained additional add-ons, which the CD-ROM would have been used instead. This was not a problem since I already possessed many of the add-ons from version 5.x, which were the same as in version 6.
The version 6.x is an interesting release since it acts as a bridge from version 5.x (floppy-based) technologies to the introduction of the new CD-ROM storage technology with the implementation of products code in version 6.x. I know that these floppy-based add-ons from version 5.x installed easily into ‘THE WORD Processor’ version 6.3B. Version 6.x can do both: floppy disks installations and CD-ROM with products codes installations.
‘THE WORD Processor’ version 4.3

More recently, I located and acquired ‘THE WORD Processor’ version 4.3. This package contained the users manual binder and twenty-five 5.25-inch floppy disks. The base installation was version 4.0 and then two version upgrade disk sets to versions 4.2 & 4.3. The package also contained some utilities and a few add-ons.
The ‘THE WORD Processor’ version 4.x releases were the last to implement the original textual-based user’s interface. For me, it took a little bit of getting used to–but version 4.x was very usable. Of course, I still prefer version 5.x user’s interface since I was very accustomed to it.
‘THE WORD Processor’ version 3.1
My last acquisition was ‘THE WORD Processor’ version 3.1 on twelve 5.25-inch floppy disks. This floppy disk set contained the ‘THE WORD Processor’ and the NIV bible translation. Nothing fancy but usable.

Verse Search For Windows 7.1.39
In early 2018, I contacted Mr. Brown to verify that their website was still active and he explained that his company was shutdown and was no longer in business. I explained to him that the sales page of their website was still active–though, he assured me that nothing would have happened sale-wise. The next day–that web page was removed.
I explained to him about my loss of original materials and, since I had my backups that he verified I possessed, he provided me with equivalent codes so I can download the copyrighted materials that I should possess. So, my ‘THE WORD Processor’ version 7.1 downloads were not a complete set. Hence, I possess the last version that Bible Research Systems produced. Moreover, I also saved copies of their web pages from their website.
My personal goal is to locate and acquire every software version that Bible Research Systems produced. In addition, I want to locate and save the different users manuals and marketing materials. My purpose is simple–save everything that I can to prevent them from becoming lost forever.
If any anyone knows anybody who used to use and/or still have the Bible Research Systems software and printed materials that I do not have available on this website, please tell them to contact me.
